The Best Attitude

Do you usually expect good things to happen, or do you more often expect unpleasant situations to materialize? Being an optimist or a pessimist can be a trait of your character that you believe is innate and which, therefore, cannot be changed. This is true only to a certain extent. Your 'nature' might make you lean towards one or the other, but also the environment and the people you usually deal with have a great influence on your habitual attitude. Which one is better? It depends. If you are optimistic to the point that you ignore possible difficulties or problems, then you need to reflect on how you can be a bit more 'realistic'. On the other hand, if you expect only the 'worst', any joy will vanish even when you are successful. You will see it as a random strike of luck, with no chance to happen again. As usual, it's better to remember that a balance is always necessary to help you live a pleasant - although vigilant - life.
