Some people don't like to confront or be confronted by new or different ideas that might disturb their view of the world. They are happy to live nestled in the lovely 'cave' or in the nice 'stage setting' they have created in their minds. Accordingly, they won't allow any thing that might challenge or upset it. They are afraid of change, so they prefer to bear the consequences of their close-mindedness rather than admit that other possibilities actually exist. This applies to all the diversified fields that can be identified in the human 'setting', which in fact create reality. Neither doubts nor disruptions are permitted in their established beliefs, in their deep-rooted convictions. Why? Simply because they feel that - if any of the wings on their stage setting are removed and replaced - their whole world will collapse.
