Wondering

I can't help wondering: Who am I, really? What am I doing here and now? What is my place in the difficult situation the whole world is dealing with? Why is all this happening? I have no answer and, probably, neither do you. We can only try to find an explanation that might sound right to our own personal ears. What do you feel you should be doing? Acting, i.e. performing some activity in a specific field in order to feel useful? Connecting to people through the means of communication, comforting others, offering your availability for whatever is needed? Praying, meditating, or...simply thinking? Thinking about the things I (and probably many of you) can't help wondering about. Although there is no certain answer, we "feel" that there must be a meaning, a reason, a glimpse for possibility, maybe a  warning, definitely a fair cause for all that is happening. And there is also HOPE.

The Importance of Understanding

As you are certainly aware of the importance of understanding what is going on in your life, dig up your belief about "why" your life has unfolded the way it has. Why things have gone in such a way that you are "here", "now"? If you reflect with attention and honesty, you will discover that - no matter where you are - the path you followed was the best one for your  personal 'progress'. But... just a moment! It helped you to improve yourself only if you - all along - have been able to understand the reason for the challenges you have been facing and, eventually, learn the lessons they were intended to give you. Only in this case will you accept your being "here" and "now" willingly, even gratefully. Otherwise, you will possibly regret, resent, resist and feel a victim of a malevolent fate.

YOU

Imagine a beach made of infinite grains of sand. Imagine an ocean made of infinite waves. Imagine a painting made of infinite brush strokes. Now focus on one single grain of sand, on one single wave, on one single brush stroke. Each grain, each wave, each stroke is "you" in the economy of the infinite Universe. As without a single gain of sand the beach wouldn't be complete, as without one single wave the ocean wouldn't be complete, as without one single stroke the painting wouldn't be complete, thus the Universe without "you" wouldn't be complete. Can you see how important "you" (your thought, your voice, your action = your presence = you) are? Therefore, don't waste any more time: go ahead and think, speak, act. Your thought, your voice, your action are important. Not only important, actually - they are indispensable and irreplaceable.

Times Change.

Times change. This is a fact that no-one can deny. And change necessarily entails adjustment. Within 'adjustment' it seems that the idea of 'acceptance' is included. Therefore, nowadays most human beings have been brought to accept certain behaviors, attitudes and situations - although they don't believe them to be totally commendable - as a sign of flexibility and open-mindedness. But what is happening now goes far beyond acceptance. You can easily interpreter it as 'encouragement' to cross the line of honesty, dignity and respectability. How? Simply by showing, displaying, talking about such extreme self-expressions and manifestations everywhere, all the time.  To the point that they are accepted as the new way of life.  So, does the "natural" change bring with it a radical transformation of the human mindset - in all fields? As I believe that certain principles should be - as they actually are, -unchangeable, I am probably living in an obsolete, "La La" plane of reality.  *

Find Your Own Path

As no-one can show a fish the way to the ocean, so no-one can help you to find your own path. Is such a statement extreme and even depressing? So...why teachers, prophets, creeds? Do they have a truly essential role in this world? They probably aren't always useful, as history has clearly demonstrated. In fact teachings, good advice, instructions and rules are useful only when their positive message doesn't stop in the ear that perceives them. They must travel to the brain first, be understood, then absorbed and, finally, they must reach the heart. If you understand a concept, in fact, but you don't make it your own, you don't weave it into the fabric of your very 'self', it is totally useless, independently from its worth. Therefore, as each fish must follow its instinct to find the ocean, the river or the lake that it needs according to its nature, so each human being should discover his or her own personal path, making use of the signs and indications they encounter along their trek.

Just Sharing

Part 1. This morning an episode of the old iconic TV show "The Twilight Zone" was broadcast (s5 e26). The story is about a village where - because of its inhabitants' widespread hate and hypocrisy - one day the sun doesn't rise. It is darkness everywhere. Later, darkness starts to spread all over the world.

Part 2. Right after watching this episode, I read these words from Wikipedia executive director to its readers:
"We find ourselves in remarkable circumstances this year. The COVID-19 pandemic makes it clear our global human interconnectedness and the responsibilities we have to one another. We have no precedent for its challenges, but we do know that our best response relies on the sort of global empathy, cooperation and community building that sit at the heart of our movement."

Just sharing.

THE NEWS!

Your TV set - the "magic box" - used to be your friend. You had fun watching it because there was good entertainment. Today you can still listen to music and watch comedy, but you have to go look for it. On the other hand, what you can find everywhere,  24/7, is "The News"! Now you can follow disasters, killings, every kind of crimes, often live! Yes, because most of the news regard just this: disasters and crime. How uplifting! Moreover, these days your TV set has become your worst enemy because it is feeding you FEAR. Yes, this is what it is doing to you and to the whole world. Who knows "who" has decided that spreading panic is the best weapon to achieve who knows what agenda. You don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. Almost the entire world doesn't know what it is. "Almost". There is someone who knows. There is "something" that has orchestrated the whole thing. And you give it power by obsessively watching the news, by storming supermarkets, by nursing FEAR. But you can regain your power by saying 'no', by switching off your TV set. If you want to take back at least part of your serenity and some control over your life.
